01Data controller
The data controller for the personal data collected through this website is the law firm Paraskevi Politaki & Associates.
Registered office: Πατησίων 52, 6ος όροφος, 10682, Αθήνα, Greece. Email: politaki@greeklaw.eu. Phone: 210 6420302.
For any matter relating to the processing of your data, you may contact us directly using the details above.
02What data we collect
We collect only the data necessary to communicate with you and to operate the website securely:
- Data you provide to us: full name, email address, phone number and the content of your message, when you contact us through the contact form, by email or by phone.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and access time, recorded by our hosting provider for security and proper operation purposes.
- Anonymous traffic statistics: aggregate data that does not allow your identification and is not used to build a profile.
03Cookies and local storage
This website does not use tracking, advertising or user-profiling cookies and does not share data with advertising networks.
It uses only technically necessary local storage in your browser (sessionStorage), so that the loading screen is not repeated on every page. This information stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is deleted when you close your browser.
04Purposes and legal basis of processing
We do not use your details to send advertising or commercial messages.
- Responding to your request and preparatory steps for taking on a matter — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Security and proper operation of the website — legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Compliance with legal obligations arising from legislation and the Greek Code of Lawyers — Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
05Attorney–client privilege
Beyond data protection legislation, any information you entrust to us is covered by attorney–client privilege, as established under the Greek Code of Lawyers (Law 4194/2013).
This privilege is stricter than general confidentiality obligations: it binds the lawyer and her associates without any time limit and does not lapse upon termination of the engagement.
06Recipients of the data
We do not sell, rent, or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes.
Access is limited to the lawyer and the firm’s associates, to the extent required to handle your request or matter, as well as to the website’s hosting provider and the email service used by the contact form, who act as processors bound by an appropriate agreement.
Disclosure to public authorities or courts takes place only where required by law or necessary to defend your rights in the context of your matter.
07Retention period
Contact messages are retained for as long as necessary to review and respond to your request.
Where a matter is undertaken, file records are retained for the period required by applicable legislation and the Code of Lawyers, and for as long as necessary to establish, exercise or support legal claims.
Technical server log files are retained for a limited period and are then automatically deleted.
08Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- Right of access to the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure, provided this does not conflict with a legal obligation of ours
- Right to restriction of processing
- Right to object to processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw your consent, where processing is based on it
09Exercising your rights and lodging a complaint
To exercise your rights, contact us at politaki@greeklaw.eu. We respond within the time limits set by the GDPR.
If you believe that the processing of your data infringes the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr/en).
10Security
This website operates exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and consists of static pages, with no internet-accessible database — which substantially limits the attack surface.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.
11Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the operation of the website or in the law. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
